It Is What It Is

I have expressed to friends and family my annoyance with phrases of the day that come and go. You can even read about them on this blog. Some are even used by my favourite people. Just last week I heard Bernie Sanders say that Donald Trump and the billionaire class "could care less" about the American working class. Jimmy Carter, who might be as close as the US had in my lifetime to a good president, always said "nucular." My latest pet peeve phrase is probably when someone says something like, "The weather was nice... until it wasn't." "He had a great career... until he didn't." That phrase was clever... until it wasn't. (like after about the third time I'd heard it)

I remember one time telling my sister how the phrase "It is what it is" is about as useful as saying, "I am talking right now." I think I even wrote that in this blog. She disagreed and said she uses it how Mary Trump in the video below says most people use it - to mean something like "That's how things are and it's too bad," which, if you ask me, isn't much more helpful. Maybe in the sense that the person is relating and empathizing and telling you that they might understand there is a morsel of value to it, but nothing close to substantial. I think it is used just as much or more to cover the fact that the person who utters it DOESN'T understand or relate, or was thinking about something else while you were talking.

Like most of what Mary Trump talks about, I find her analysis of the phrase and its use amongst her family members fascinating. Watch this vid and listen to her description of how the Trumps use the phrase "It is what it is," and see if you don't hate it more than you did before.

It is what it is: It's a terrible situation, I could help you, but I don't give a shit." Or, as Bernie Sanders might say, "I could care less." Forget "Make America great again," THIS should be Trump's slogan. It is what it is. This was what Trump said about 1000 Americans a day dying from the Corona virus and, although we suspected, Mary Trump puts THAT comment into perspective. Don't give a shit. Your father's dying wishes - don't give a shit. You're upset at being screwed out of your inheritance (by me):
Coooooudn't give a shit!

YET... when a visiting dignitary doesn't wear a suit...
While we're on Zelensky, didn't Donald of Orange say the US gave 350 billion dollars of aid through a president who was stupid? (Biden) Well it is safe to assume without fact-checking that anything out of that lie hole of his is at the very least hugely exaggerated but in case you still have doubts about the pathological lying path of his psychopathic pathology, here you go. So why was he so butt-hurt that Zelensky didn't say thank you. I made my own meme about this one:
While Trump demanding thanks from Zelensky reminded ME of Darth Vader, it reminded Rachel Maddow of a former senator from 1937-1940 when he died in a mysterious plane crash with a speech in his pocket that he never got to deliver to congress. You can read the original (stained from the plane crash) speech here. I did. I don't know if he does himself any favours by immediately citing the "white race" and "Aryan race" as the one commonality Americans share with the UK. He calls it a "family" with the same "human nature" then says that other than the Teutonic/German element, Americans should "disinfect" themselves of Anglicanism. He continues by asserting that England is not the fatherland but Germany. Then comes the "thank you" entitlement: Surely, he says, the 30 million American citizens with German forefathers have made contributions that entitle them to generous appreciation!

He warns of being catapulted into a fury of hatred that they fell under in WWI under the sinister spell of foreign propaganda. P15 He talks about English "agents" changing schoolbooks to brainwash kids. Then on P 17 a Trump-like escalation of the German-American population to 35 million. He conjectures that maybe the contributions of German Americans are not so well known due to their humility and reluctance to brag about their own achievements.

What ensues is a lengthy and detailed account of specific achievements and contributions made by German immigrants to the US including Daniel Boone who was probably Bohne, George Custer who was probably Kuester, but absolutely NOT Benedict Arnold. "We owe infinitely to Germany" for their hatred of slavery and being the determining factor in Lincoln's election; Heroism in various wars and conflicts; farming and agriculture; engineering; education; music; art; literature and he goes into detailed stories of some more notable German Americans. Then on page 102/3 he mysteriously flip-flops and says German Americans DON'T have special claim to our gratitude. BUT Germany has as much right to ask the US for help as England. The thing is... Germans are too humble to ask for help.

On P 105 he starts with the Hitler stuff saying that most of what America is hearing about him is hearsay based on one interview with him. To say we must fight Hitler because he is a threat to the world is false and cowardly. It is not Hitler spouting hysterical rhetoric, it's those who oppose him.

I'd like to point out the parallel here with a habit we see so often in Felon 47 that some of us are developing involuntary shaking, delirium tremors they could be called, or even the DT's when we hear him accusing someone I-know-you-are-but-what-am-I-style of something of which he is FAR more egregiously guilty. I've recently heard a GOOD new phrase that I would like to apply to this: self-own. Any time Trump accuses anyone of anything there is a better than average chance you can find video of him committing the same offense only worse. In essence every bad thing he says about anyone else is a self-own. Maybe not EVERY, but you will find a helluva lot more evidence for this statement than against it so as near as makes no difference Donald Trump is not just a pathological liar, he's a pathological self-owner.

Ernest Lundeen's self-own was ultimately exposed when it was revealed that he was a Nazi operative paid by the Hitler government to promote NAZI propaganda. The link reads like a Le Carre spy novel folks. Do yourself a favour and check this guy out. I don't think I need to tell you that shortly after this plane crash he seemed to know was coming, Hitler launched his Blitzkrieg attacks that got WWII rolling in earnest (my apunogies).

To belabour the obvious parallels, Trump demanding thanks from Zelensky saying HE was toying with WWIII and defending Putin as well as receiving the support of his government to say nice things about him, and even (maybe NOT so obviously) a Nobel Peace Prize nomination (both Trump and Hitler hilariously received) make us wonder if the parallels are ended and pray they ARE.

Trump has just threatened large scale sanctions on Russia undoubtedly in response to too many people suspecting the truth about his broner for Putin. He's not going to carry through with them unless the suspicion grows. TRUMP is the one "gambling with the lives of millions of people" (a self-own he expressed during the now infamous meeting with Zelensky. As we all should know now it has almost nothing (or exactly nothing) to do with the lives of people, rather it's about large deposits of what the Orange Ignoramus calls "raw" earth minerals and him (and probably Putin) getting a better deal on them.

Do I even need to mention that in 1994 Ukraine was the 3rd largest nuclear power on the planet and signed the Budapest Memorandum with the US, Russia, and the UK (mainly) to de-nuclearize in exchange for promises of non-aggression? Putin broke the agreement in 2014 when he invaded Crimea then when he invaded Ukraine in 2022.

Instead of the US apologizing for NOT kicking Putin's ass, putting him in jail, or getting him on an Ernest Lundeen flight, this Bozo in Chief has the nerve to demand a "thank you" from Zelensky. His reason you can bet was, "Well, your situation is terrible. I could help you but I don't give a shit."

Or maybe just, "It is what it is."

Can somebody please tell me how and why THIS video a) was not what actually happened b) has been erased from YouTube, and c) does not win the internet forever?

I'll tell you why: because everything is fake.

I told you I wasn't finished.

Probably STILL not finished.
